Waiting on God is the hardest thing ever

Hey guys, welcome back to another blog! It has been a while since I have uploaded. I have been wanting to write something for quite some time now, but I guess you could say I had a bit of ‘writers block.’ Nevertheless, it feels great to be back.

We’re 4 months into the year. I hope this year so far has been good to you. I pray that the rest of these 8 months in 2022 will be amazing for you. I pray God will bless you abundantly. I pray that more things will come together in your life. I pray that God will give you strength, peace and joy. I pray you will be happier. I pray for success over your life. And whatever you’re waiting on God to answer, I pray that he will come through for you, whether its any of these things I have listed or something else.

The topic of today’s blog is waiting on God. It’s one of the toughest, hardest challenges in your Christian walk. Waiting on God for answers, waiting on God to move something in your life, waiting on God to bring something in your life. Waiting on God to provide. Waiting on God in times of uncertainty.

The waiting season in your life is hard!

I saw a quote on Instagram that stated; ‘Sometimes all you can do is leave it in God’s hands and wait.’ Which was actually my inspiration for writing this blog because it can be easier said than done.

It’s quite a devasting feeling when you pray to God about something and it feels like he is not listening to you even though he is. You pray, you feel at peace once the prayer is done, you’re quite happy that you spoke to God about what’s laying heavy on your heart, you gain some strength back that you lost, your faith increases that tad bit more. And now you’re just waiting…

A day goes by you’re waiting…

Another day goes by you’re waiting…

Before you know it, a week has gone…

Another week has gone…

A month passes on by, still nothing…

A couple more months down the line. Oop still nothing…

Sometimes you find yourself even waiting years for this one thing that you’re waiting on God for.

You try to distract yourself and focus on the things you can control whilst you’re waiting. At times you feel tempted to take matters into your own hands or even doing exactly that. And the more time that goes by, the more difficult it becomes to wait. You’ve waited for so long it feels like God is never going to answer your prayers.

But I wrote this blog today to tell you that he will.

You may be angry, frustrated, start to become impatient, but waiting on God is never a waste of time. Although, it is a difficult thing to do, it is an essential part of your Christian journey.

I know how it can be waiting on God because I’m currently waiting on God to answer one of my prayers, that I have been waiting on for a very long time. It’s been really hard and I haven’t been the happiest person about it. Me and God have had our talks. Trust me, he knows I’m not happy about it…

But I know in his perfect timing he will provide for me. I try my best to not be tempted into doing things the way I want them to be done and I pray that for the rest of this year I can try my best to do things the way God wants me to.

I also know that God is a God of ‘suddenly’ and I know that one day everything will suddenly and miraculously work in my favour but it all begins in the waiting season. It all begins with your faith and it takes great faith to wait on the Lord.

The Bible tells us that Noah waited on God. Abraham and Sarah also waited on God for a very long time.

It tells us in Psalm 27:14: ‘Wait on the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart take courage. Yes, wait on the Lord.’

Isaiah 40:31: ‘They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.’

So I encourage those of you are reading this today and even speaking to myself to keep waiting on the Lord. Continue to thank him in advance for the very thing you’re praying for. It’s a very hard season but it will be worth it in the end.

I pray you stay blessed and everything works out for you x
