Happiness is temporary, joy is forever

So it’s the last day of 2022 and what a year it has been! This year has had it’s ups and downs but overall I cannot complain. The good weighed out the bad, there was a lot more positive outcomes than negative and I am so grateful for it all. I achieved things that I never thought I would   such as climbing Snowdon Mountain in Wales for my best friends birthday; 5 hours up and 5 hours back down! I purchased my first ever car this year and I finally figured out my career calling and on the journey of progressing towards it. Most importantly, I strengthened my personal relationship with God. I always felt like I had a good relationship with him, growing up in the church, therefore already having the privilege of knowing him so early in my life, the will to pray, getting baptised at 18, experiencing the quickening of the spirit. However, this year was different. I wanted to experience God in a different way like never before. From the ages of 18-25, even though I was a born again C...

Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31 st and has a very dark, spiritual history. It was influenced by the traditional ancient Celtic festival of Samhain; where it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. It also marked the end of summer, the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death; a day deeply linked to ghost and superstitions. The Celts believed they could commune with the dead more easily on this day, therefore they would light bonfires and wear costumes typically made of animal heads to ward off the evil, harmful spirits. From the late 15 th century, people began wearing demonic outfits to represent winter spirts or demons. Individuals would mainly dress up as witches or the devil for Halloween. Witches use magic or supernatural powers to harm others and the Bible tells us that we should not be among those who engage in witchcraft, cast spells or consult the dead (Deuteron...

Does God really give his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers?

I have been wanting to write a blog on the quote: “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers” for some time, but didn’t quite know how to go about it. However, it is something that has been playing on my mind, so it’s time I wrote my thoughts on it.   So what does it mean for God to give his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers? This quote illustrates that God specifically chooses people to endure a struggle that is worse than someone else’s because he knows those particular individuals will be able to handle it. So many people live by this quote. They believe that because they are going through a hard time that is deemed worse than others, automatically they must be assigned as Gods strongest soldier.  Nevertheless, I wrote this blog to explain how dangerous this quote is and I’ll tell you why.   The scripture warns us on comparing ourselves to others. It tells us in Galatians 6:4 ‘Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pri...

God is always with you!

It has been a few months since I have written a blog, however, I am back with a new one to remind you all, that God is always with you! Regardless of your situation, regardless of your circumstances; God is always present! It states in (Hebrews 13:5) that God will never leave you, nor forsake you. There may be times in your life, you feel as though God is not there, but you have to trust, believe and have faith that he is there and he is working things out for you! It’s all working for you good. It’s all working in your favour! We know this because in (Romans 8:28) it states; ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’ God is merciful, God is gracious. He knows what he is doing, he is all knowing. He knows your purpose, he knows you more than you know yourself, before you was even formed in your mothers womb. (Jeremiah 1:5). God knows every step you have taken and every step you will take. He will n...

Could you be blocking your blessings?

God wants to bless us, he wants to give us the desires of our hearts. He wants us to be happy, at peace, to prosper.     In Psalm 37:4 it states; “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” In Jeremiah 29:11 it states; “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” God wants us to live a great life and he wants to pour out his blessings over us!  But could you be blocking the blessings that God has in store for you?    One of the two ways you could be blocking your blessings is by not putting God first in your life and lack of faith.  Put God first in all you do!  Put God first in every aspect of your life. God wants us to come to him. Not just when we’re going through hard times, even in the good times, involve God. Pray continually, talk to him, invite him in!  In Matthew 6:33 it says “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righ...

Thanking God In Advance

Hi guys welcome back! I hope you are all well :)     Today’s topic is Thanking God In Advance. I hope this message will encourage you and strengthen your faith in the most high. Prayer is important. Prayer strengthens your relationship with God. The Bible teaches us to pray continually, as this is his will for us.  1  Thessalonians 5:16-18: “ Rejoice always,   pray continually,   give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” However, prayer is not just about praying continually you have to believe that whatever you are praying for will come to you. There is no use in praying if you do not believe God will provide you with what it is you’re praying for.  Mark 11:24: “Whatever you have asked for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours”  One of the ways you can show your belief through prayer is by thanking God in advance. Prayer for your heart desires, and thanking him as though it has al...

You have purpose

Hey guys welcome back to another blog :) I hope you’re all well!  We’ve entered into a new month. I pray this month will open new doors and new opportunities for you. I pray this month you will receive unexpected blessings. I pray this month will be so much better than you expected it to be.  I wanted to take some time to write another blog, to let you all know that you have reached this new month for a reason.  You have a purpose!  You are still standing, still breathing, still living because God is not done with you! God is still working on and through you! God is still preparing a way for you! God is still moulding you! Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NIV I know some of you may be facing some hardship, you may be feeling quite sad, low, maybe quite angry and frustrated. Some of you may feel like you’ve failed and no longer want to be here. But please do not ...
