Could you be blocking your blessings?

God wants to bless us, he wants to give us the desires of our hearts. He wants us to be happy, at peace, to prosper.  


In Psalm 37:4 it states; “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”


In Jeremiah 29:11 it states; “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”


God wants us to live a great life and he wants to pour out his blessings over us! 


But could you be blocking the blessings that God has in store for you? 

 

One of the two ways you could be blocking your blessings is by not putting God first in your life and lack of faith. 


Put God first in all you do! 


Put God first in every aspect of your life. God wants us to come to him. Not just when we’re going through hard times, even in the good times, involve God. Pray continually, talk to him, invite him in! 


In Matthew 6:33 it says “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”


In proverbs 3:5-6 it says; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths." 


Whatever you have planned out for your life go to God about it first. You want to move out and saw a house you’re interested in buying? Talk to God about it first. You don’t know if you should go back to studying? Talk to God about it first. You’re unsure whether this person is for you? Talk to God about it first. There’s a job that you have your eye on but not sure if you should go for it? Talk to God about it first. 


He wants us to trust that when we go to him he will reveal to us what we should do, he will give us a great understanding of what to do next. He will make our vision clear. He will help us. 

The Bible states he will never leave or forsake us! He cares for us, he won’t let us do it on our own. If we could we wouldn’t need God for anything. However, we need God more than ever and he will be there for you, just invite him in. 


After I had graduated in 2020, I was a bit lost with where I wanted to be in my career but God made a way for me. He made my path clear and I finally know where I want to be and has blessed me with the opportunity to strive! If he can do it for me he can do it for you. 


Have a little bit of faith! 


2 Chronicles 20:20. "Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful."


Sometimes it can be easy to lose faith, especially when you are in a situation where it doesn’t seem to be changing. You pray and pray and your circumstances are still the same. But don’t lose hope! Have faith that God will pour you down a blessing. 


Don’t block your blessings by giving up! Stand firm! 


God wants us to have faith in him. In other words he wants us to trust and have confidence in him. He doesn’t want our faith to be small he wants us to believe that he will make a way for us. Nothing is impossible for God. Luke 1:37. He can make a way for you through absolutely anything! 


Last scripture I will mention is James 1:6 “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”


So stop blocking your blessings that God has prepared for you. Have faith and believe that God will provide because I promise you he will
